Newsletter may 2018

Temperatures are rising, blossoms in the trees, the sheep and cows are back in the meadows… It’s Spring time!!! After a winter where the temperatures went from subzero into the positive double figures within hours, one could only hope for a solid and ‘normal’ Spring with a beautiful Summer to follow.

Being solid is something that we as TechNed are very familiar with. The lighting solutions and project department are solid as rock and the quality is the same. The project department, where mainly enclosures are designed, manufactured and equipped with components, is experiencing an enormous boost in the past few months. The challenge is always to meet the required delivery time and that challenge we have been taking on successfully.

In the lighting industry the trend is shifting more and more in the direction of LED’s, also for the linear applications. Despite this growing demand for LED lighting fixtures, the traditional fluorescent lighting fixtures are still the majority of the requirements. In this newsletter there are 2 articles about users of our TNAML lighting fixtures. The first one is long term user Peterhead Power Station in the UK, in cooperation with our local partner STL International. The second one is closer to home; PQ Silicas B.V. in the Netherlands

There is also a short white paper about the use of glass vs polycarbonate in lighting fixtures. Glass is often seen as more delicate than polycarbonate. This is not true. Especially in the field of hazardous areas where the tests on equipment by Notified Bodies are the same. TechNed even went the extra mile by doing a 20 Joules impact test on a luminaire (this can be seen on the video on our website).

Last but not least, our colleague Sandra, one of the newest members of our team, is introducing herself. She’s a versatile colleague with a wide range of experience.
